• Act as the Fire Emergency Services Assessment Program (FESAP) Manager, plans, directs, develops, implements reviews, and evaluates the assessment program. Act as Accreditation Manager.
• Provide assistance to the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention
• Provide Assistance to the Assistant Chief of Training.
• Provide Assistance to the Assistant Chief of Operations
• As an Assistant Incident Safety Officer (AISO), participates within the incident management system as a command staff member and respond in accordance with SOP/SOG to emergency incidents.
• Utilize Fire Emergency Services Management Tool (FESMT) Playbook is to educate AF Fire Emergency Services (FES) personnel and stakeholders.
• Assist in directing and coordinating the completion and annual review of a comprehensive assessment and evaluation model as directed by Department of Defense and Department of the Air Force Instructions.
• Complies with health, safety, security, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• Performs other tasks assigned by the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief.
• Directs the operation of firefighting vehicles such as pumpers and crash-rescue trucks.

• Fundamental working knowledge of Center for Public Safety Excellence and a demonstrated knowledge of the accreditation and credentialing models
• Knowledge, skills and ability to perform as the Fire Department training officer in order to maintain a comprehensive fire training program.
• Knowledge of the layout, design, construction, and contents of buildings; location of fire protection systems; and other similar characteristics of a typical DOD installation.
• Knowledge of the theory of fire propagation and progression and the application of accepted techniques and principles to reduce or eliminate hazards in a specialized environment with a high fire expectancy and potential for severity.
• Ability to interpret facts, analyze, evaluate, and make sound decisions.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of the organization.
• Knowledge of safety and health hazards associated with emergency operations; building construction; fire science and behavior relative to predicting dangerous fire ground environments; personnel accountability systems; incident scene rehabilitation strategies; and the ability to manage incident scene safety per organizational policies and national consensus standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work within a given budget

• Applicant must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination in accordance with NFPA 1582 and NFPA 1583 and physical agility test (Occupational Task Evaluation or Current CPAT).
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to work a 56.2 hour work schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and is subject to overtime.
• Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
• This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions. It requires you to participate in medical surveillance programs; falling under the respiratory protection and hearing conservation program.
