- Primary and/or intermediate level classroom instruction experience preferred
- Preference given to candidates experienced in assisting students and teachers with the integration of instructional technology in a school setting
- Must have excellent classroom management skills
- Teach skills, knowledge, and attitudes aligned to the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency standards for grades K-5.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate lessons in areas including computer fundamentals, keyboarding, digital citizenship, online safety, networks and system design, coding, the impacts of computing, computational thinking, and digital literacy.
- Support students in gaining the skills required for computer-based assessments and instruction.
- Instruct students in the proper use, care, and safe handling of technology equipment.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students.
- Evaluate academic growth of students, prepare report cards, and keep appropriate records related to the technology room.
- Promote a positive learning environment that includes behavioral management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students.
- Collaborate with other school personnel, especially the Technology Integrator, to ensure rigorous curriculum and alignment with core class technology work as well as grades 6-12 computer science instruction.
- Keep up to date with developments in the technology field through professional growth opportunities and staff development
- Maintain the technology room by assuring the hardware, software, and operating systems are in order; manage records, materials, supplies, and equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment.
- Perform duties assigned by the principal.
