Job Title: Senior Line Design Engineer (LDESR)
Location: Forest Park, GA 30297
Duration: 1-Year ContractPosition Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Line Design Engineer with extensive experience in high-voltage transmission line (HVTL) design. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution (or a Professional Engineer license).The ideal candidate will lead and support the engineering processes necessary to design, estimate, and construct HVTL systems. This includes oversight of internal and external resources, quality assurance reviews, and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply engineering principles and software tools to plan, design, and construct high-voltage transmission lines.
  • Prepare construction specifications, material estimates, and design documentation.
  • Review and approve design solutions, cost estimates, and packages prepared by external contractors.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards such as NESC and internal design criteria.
  • Provide engineering support to construction and maintenance teams during regular operations and emergency restoration efforts.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews for PLS-CADD models and complete construction packages.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of design standards and criteria.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVTL design and construction.
  • Proficiency with TLD software, including PLS-CADD.
  • In-depth understanding of NESC standards and transmission line design practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor internal teams and external contractors.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in team-oriented environments.
