
Safety Specialist

- Educate field personnel on correct safety procedures and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Conduct site safety audits to recognize and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Develop and conduct training sessions for recurring audit items.
- Investigate all incidents and generate detailed reports.
- Create, conduct, and document Tool Box Talks.
- Ensure required safety signage is properly posted and maintained.
- Stop work to address serious safety deficiencies and document disciplinary actions.
- Provide leadership focused on safe work practices and pre-task planning.
- Assist in planning and implementing project safety needs.
- Actively participate in operational planning to eliminate hazards.
- Monitor compliance with safety portions of OPS Plans and collaborate with foremen to address issues.
- Investigate new safety systems/equipment and educate crews accordingly.
- Conduct on-site inspections and control hazardous conditions through teaching and coaching.
- Recognize field personnel for outstanding safety initiatives.
- Participate in daily morning huddles and end-of-shift meetings.
- Educate foremen on proper daily work plans/JHA procedures.
- Assist with and lead weekly safety meetings.
- Continue education in safety through seminars and meetings.
- Remain current in safety topics and issues relevant to the construction industry.
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety or equivalent experience.
- Possession of a BCSP board of safety certification such as GSP, ASP, or CHSP.
- Willingness to work 50 hours a week with potential weekend work.
- Open to relocation and local to Wisconsin or Northern Illinois.
- Experience in industrial, data center, solar, and commercial projects is preferred.
