Assists in helping the Traditional Foods Educator in overseeing students' hands-on experiences in the Traditional Foods Summer Program (e.g.-prepping/clean up of materials and areas used, cooking, and assisting with monitoring of students).
Maintain confidentiality of students attending summer programs (e.g.-student data).
Meet with the Traditional Foods Educator daily to discuss programming.
Assist in helping to plan, participate, and evaluate cooking/classroom activities.
Assist the Traditional Foods Educator in providing and maintaining a safe environment for program participants.
Interacts and maintains a positive attitude and rapport with staff, students and parents of the program. Including demonstrating Native values.
Assists staff with the coordination of planned activities; determines materials needed for activities.
Always maintains professional conduct; wears appropriate clothing, and maintains cooking safety procedures (e.g., washing hands, pulling long hair back, and no sandals/flip flops for kitchen/cooking safety).
Hours of service are: June 10 through June 28, and hours are: 7:30 a.m. to 2.:30 p.m.
There might be some slight variations to the workday on particular days. The Traditional Foods Educator will give advance

APS Indian Education Department: Agrees to monitor the progress and duties of the Student Summer Traditional Foods Assistant. The APS Indian Education Department retains the right to suspend, cancel or amend this agreement at any time should program funding and/or procedures indicate such a need.Hard Skills
