- Market Research and Analysis: Conducting comprehensive research to identify potential markets, customer segments, and industry trends. Analyzing market data to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Identifying Business Opportunities: Identifying new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, attending industry events, and other means. This involves prospecting and building relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders. New business is defined as customers we have not done business with in the past 24 months.
- Strategic Planning: Developing strategic plans for business growth and expansion. This may involve setting targets, defining objectives, and outlining strategies to achieve them.
- Partnership and Alliance Building: Identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations with other businesses or organizations to enhance market reach.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients to leverage future business.
- Financial Analysis and CRM Usage: Analyzing financial data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of business development strategies. Utilizing the CRM to track and monitor all activities, leads, and measure data.
- Reporting and Documentation: Providing regular reports and updates to management on business development activities, progress towards goals, and key performance indicators.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Staying updated on industry trends, market developments, and best practices in business development. Continuously seeking opportunities for learning and skill development to enhance effectiveness in the role.
- Networker: Ability to leverage relationships and connections to find new opportunities.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to get meetings and leverage network to find new opportunities.
- Self-directed / Self-starter: A person who is self-motivated and not afraid to reach out and connect with unknowns.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate and provide appropriate information for smooth transition and hand off to Account Manager.
