- Performing statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity.
- Evaluating system performance and design, as well as its effect on data quality.
- Collaborating with database developers to improve data collection and storage processes.
- Running data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions, as well as cleaning data.
- Gathering data from primary or secondary data sources to identify and interpret trends.
- Reporting data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs.
- Understanding of best practices in developing long-term data hygiene practices to clean and standardize data.
- Documenting processes and maintaining data records.
- Adhering to best practices in data analysis and collection.
- Keeping abreast of developments and trends in data quality analysis.
- Accountable for executing and processing of data change requests (merges, deletes, etc.).
- Ensure sufficient data quality is maintained so that the data can effectively support the business process and reporting accuracy.
- Ability to define, generate, refine, and socialize ongoing data quality audits.
- Identify, investigate, and manage the resolution and escalation of data quality issues.
- Contributes feedback to assist leadership in evolving best practices as opportunities and challenges are presented.
- Execute various data cleanup tasks, such as: standardizing data, de-duplication of records, and ensuring that necessary data fields are populated.
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information management, or similar.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, data quality or data management.
- Required proficiency in programming languages, including Structured Query Language (SQL) and JavaScript. Preferred experience in python.
- In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and tests.
- Experience with data integration packages such as Boomi, FiveTran, Azure Data Factory or Mulesoft.
- Experience with statistical packages, such as MS Excel, SAS, and/or SPSS.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of best practices in data analysis and data cleaning.
- Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to complete assignments in an efficient manner in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills in problem solving including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate an alternative course of action.
- Skills in establishing effective interpersonal relationships such as the ability to solicit key ideas and information.
- The position requires routine documentation, analysis, and strong communication.
- Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Skills in planning such as identifying and organizing action steps to achieve desired results.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and team problem-solving.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and work requests with minimal guidance.
- Ability to work independently with little oversight from management.
