DescriptionThe qualified Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in commercial, residential, and public facilities.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systemsConduct pre-job planning based on plans and specifications to determine tools and materials requiredMaintain a professional appearance and neat workspace while conducting service callsAccurately install wire, conduit, panel boards, fixtures, devices, prefab assemblies, boxes, and breakers according to job specifications and NECInstall electrical distribution and automation equipment: switchgear, transformers, PLC cabinets and VFD’sTrouble shoot commercial and residential electrical issuesWork independently with an electronic dispatch system utilizing iPadProficient with circuitry of the trade to include power, control, and motor terminationsBend conduit by hand and with bendersPerforms excavation of dirt, rock, concrete, and other materials using hand tools or power equipmentThese duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change to meet the priorities and ongoing needs of the company.Qualifications and Requirements:To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, labels, and gaugesAccurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurementsAbility to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal)Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization managementProficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelinesTechnical degree, 3-5 years’ experience, extensive mechanical ability, or a combination of education and/or experienceCertifications or experience preferred in the following areas:Journeyman or Master Electrician Card/LicenseOSHA certificationsPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb; lifts and carry up to 60 lbs, crawl, kneel, push and reach; use hands to fingers, handle, and feel.Work Environment:In performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
