Duties and Responsibilities1. Develop relationships with employers that lead to internship and career opportunities for students.2. Build the center's brand through identifying and overseeing maintenance of marketing channels, by participating in speaking opportunities, panels, and external industry specific committees. Represent Marquette as a leader in the community through memberships with leading industry organizations and associations. Share research insights that may impact the industry.3. Develop and successfully execute the strategy for achieving center financial goals. Ensure strategy aligns to university-wide goals. Partner with the Dean of the College of Business Administration and the lead faculty of AIM to identify applied learning experiences and cutting-edge curriculum that will augment students' business education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.4. Support the development and execution of fundraising initiatives in partnership with the lead faculty, Dean, and University Advancement.5. Lead and analyze data available to the center to strengthen decision-making and strategic planning across all supported colleges and units.6. Lead the center advisory board, including identification and selection of members, including external leaders, who are considered cutting edge in their industry. Oversee communication channels with the center advisory board.7. Provide thought leadership for applied research efforts alongside the center and program. Cultivates applied research opportunities for work with internal and external industry partners.8. Serve as a guest teacher, coach, find guest speakers, and hire faculty (full-time and adjunct), as necessary.9. Manage the center's budgets. Ensure center meets budget goals.10. Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesM.S.A., M.B.A., M.S.F., or related graduate degree in business, finance, or accounting.At least 8 years of related experience.Strategic planning or large project management experience.Strong leadership, including thought leadership, relationship building and communication skillsDemonstrated Technical Skills in Valuation or technical modeling.Experience mentoring new hires or students.Experience presenting to C-level executives, investors, or large-scale industry partners on behalf of an organization.Deep alignment with the mission and values of Marquette University.Willingness to serve as a visible and collaborative partner to the lead faculty members, other center leaders and university leadership.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities2+ years of Wall Street or similar experience8-9 years of professional experience in finance, investing, corporate strategy, or related industries.Experience in business development, fundraising, or external partnerships.Passion for building innovative, interdisciplinary programs in business education.Demonstrated interest or applied experience in emerging technologies, including Applied AI.Undergraduate or graduate teaching experienceCareer Background aligned with roles in marketing, public, and private offerings. Background work in traditional Wall Street Financial tracks, including Investor Relations, Wealth Management, Private Capital, and Investment Banking.Familiarity with academic environments, nonprofit organizations, or mission-driven institutions.
