Join us in making a real impact and becoming a go-to expert in your territory.Job Purpose:The ideal Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a highly competitive, self-motivated individual who understands the inner workings of agriculture and is an avid outdoors person. You will serve as a brand guardian who embodies the values of trust and loyalty by being a passionate subject matter expert trained in Victor’s product lines, ingredient integrity, and breeder/trainer endorsements.This is a field-based sales professional who reports directly to a Director of Sales. The SDR’s primary responsibility is to develop new business by consistently meeting with potential customers and clients in person. You will work directly with farm/feed/ag retail customers and key distributor personnel, including outside sales, inside sales, logistics, and ownership/management. 90% of your time will be spent in the field Monday - Friday and some weekends and overnight travel may be necessary depending on the potential customer and/or event.Duties & Responsibilities:Achieve Sales Targets: Proactively engage with Farm and Feed Retailers across your designated territory to achieve targeted sales revenue from both distributor and retail accounts. Your ability to meet forecasted goals is essential to our success.New Account Development: Cultivate strong relationships with new accounts while actively seeking out and developing new accounts to increase market penetration and drive growth.Customer Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough research to understand the evolving needs and preferences of our customers and effectively communicate these insights to the sales leadership team for strategic planning purposes.Presentations and Prospecting: Prepare compelling presentations and leverage your persuasive skills to prospect, pursue, and successfully close new retailer partnerships within your territory.By effectively executing these responsibilities, you'll contribute significantly to the growth and success of Mid America Pet Foods while delivering exceptional value to our customers and partners.Setup local interactions outside retail locations and community events.Engage with dog owners, breeders, trainers and veterinarians to engage in conversation, educate on Victor’s benefits and handout samples.Provide physical coupons redeemable at local pet stores.Track and report customer interactions, feedback, and coupon redemptions.Additional duties may be assigned by management, from time to time.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business agriculture and/or equivalent practical work experience.Background in Agriculture / Farm and Feed.Knowledge of competitive and agriculture products.Willingness to travel extensively.Excellent time management skills.Strategic thinker with a relentless drive for growth.Strong communication skills, and the ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications.Ability to travel 90% of the time from Monday through Friday.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:This largely self-directed position requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. It will also require adhering to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position requires significant travel and the ability/willingness to travel via airlines and/or vehicle.Specific physical requirements may include:Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less.Occasionally climbing ladders and stairwells.Occasionally standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time.
