- Provide targeted, standards-aligned instruction in reading and/or math to a consistent group of students in a 4:1 student-tutor ratio
- Deliver high-quality tutoring sessions using materials aligned to students’ starting levels and learning goals based on NWEA MAP and other internal assessments
- Collaborate regularly with school-based Reading and Math Instructional Specialists to ensure individualized student plans are appropriately paced and modified as needed
- Monitor and assess student progress using formative assessments and provide input to instructional teams
- Use feedback and data to inform session pacing and instructional techniques
- Maintain accurate attendance and performance records; report concerns or trends to instructional leaders
- Communicate proactively with school staff to align tutoring support with classroom instruction
- Participate in training and coaching sessions offered by Friendship or partners to continuously improve effectiveness
- Model positive relationships and encourage academic confidence and independence in students
- Meet weekly expectations reliably and consistently with high levels of professionalism
- Minimum of 30 college credits from an accredited institution
- Exceptions may apply for those enrolled in teacher prep programs or with prior teacher introduction coursework
- Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring preferred
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule: at least 3 days/week, 4–5 hours/day
- Willingness to tutor in person at a Friendship PCS campus
- Ability to maintain accurate records and engage students actively
- Commitment to tutor for at least one semester (two quarters)
