
Temporary Transfer/First-Year Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

- Effectively communicating why George Fox is the Christian university of choice and delivering the "Be Known" promise to prospective transfer and first year students and families through interpersonal interactions, digital communications, virtual and in-person presentations, campus tours, one on one meetings, and phone calls.
- Effectively managing student interaction and admissions data, including detailed knowledge of the intricacies of transferring college credits to different George Fox programs and lead transfer students through the transfer process; work collaboratively with campus partners including the Office of the Registrar, Career and Academic Planning Center, and Student Life in ensuring accuracy in advising, the transferring of credits, and transition to campus for the transfer student population.
- Implementing student recruitment strategies and executing financial aid strategies for assigned geographic territories and transfer students to meet department enrollment goals.
- Reviewing transfer and first year applications and evaluating students for admissibility to the university for the fall and spring semesters, including recalculating every transfer applicant's GPA.
- In a spirit of teamwork, collaborating and contributing with others, including the Admissions staff, employees, students and the public.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
- A high level of initiative, motivation, and attention to detail to work in a goal-oriented environment.
- The ability, willingness, and availability to travel, including by car and airplane and must have a valid Oregon driver license.
- A commitment to issues of ethnic and gender diversity and the ability to speak to changing demographics in the country and the effect it has on the recruitment of students.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions.

- Previous admission/marketing experience.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Duration: This is a temporary position and will conclude within 6 months.
- Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
- Out-of-town travel required.
- Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of a normal office environment but could include needing the ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 40 pounds
