Job DescriptionPatient Care:
Gather accurate and complete information about the patient using the following clinical skills:
Medical interviewing
Physical examination
Diagnostic studies.
Make informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions based on patient information, current scientific evidence and clinical judgment under direct supervision of the attending or senior resident physician.
Use consultants and referrals appropriately under direct supervision of the attending or senior resident physician.
Develop and carry out patient care management plans under direct supervision of the attending or senior resident.
Prescribe and perform competently the most common medical procedures considered essential for the scope of practice with the level of supervision as determined by the senior resident or attending physician.
Counsel patients and families in order to participate actively in their care through the provision of information necessary to understand illness and treatment, share decisions, and obtain informed consent.
Prioritize multiple tasks to deliver patient care efficiently.Medical Knowledge:
Possess medical degree from accredited 4-year College of Osteopathic Medicine.Interpersonal Skills and Communication:
Communicate effectively in a developmentally appropriate manner with patients and families to create and sustain a professional and therapeutic relationship across broad range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Communicate effectively with physicians, other health professionals, and health related agencies.
Work effectively as a member of a health care team.
Maintain comprehensive, timely, and legible medical records.Practice-based Learning and Improvement:
Actively participate in the education of patients, families, and students.
Acknowledge medical errors and mechanisms for prevention.Professionalism:
Demonstrate respect for and responsiveness to the needs of patients.
Assure continuity of care is maintained by availability and appropriate transfer of information when going off duty.

Practice cost-effective health care and resource allocation that does not compromise quality of care.
Advocate for quality patient care and assist patients in dealing with the system complexities.RequirementsMust be matched with Oklahoma State University Medical Center through the Electronic Residency Application Program (ERAS) for the 2024-2025 year.Possess medical degree from accredited 4-year College of Osteopathic Medicine.Current American Heart Association BLS - valid through June 2024Current American Heart Association ACLS - valid through June 2024.Position TypeFull-time
