- Operate machinery such as tractors, mowers, backhoes, chainsaws, and more for trail building, site maintenance, and resource management.
- Construct, restore, and maintain natural-surface trails, boardwalks, and site amenities like benches and split firewood for campsites.
- Clear stream and river blockages to maintain water flow and reduce flooding hazards.
- Grade land, install culverts and drainage systems, and perform turf restoration work with seeding and mulch.
- Apply herbicide and assist with invasive species removal to support native habitat health.
- Assist with prescribed burns, snow plowing, river clearing, and deer management programs as needed.
- Work closely with other maintenance and natural resources crews on a rotating or project-specific basis.
- High School Diploma/GED required, 1 - 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Illinois Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker and airbrakes endorsement within 6 months of employment in good standing.
- Illinois Department of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License within six (6) months of employment in good standing.
- National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) I-100, S-130, S-190, S-290 within two (2) years of employment.
- First Aid CPR AED certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Monday-Friday | 6:45 am - 2:45 pm.
- Starting at $26.19 - 29.48 /hour.
