The Territory Golf & Country Club is seeking a motivated, service-oriented 1st Assistant Golf Professional with strong merchandising and teaching experience. This role is hands-on, supporting both golf shop and cart barn operations, and is ideal for a professional looking to take the next step toward a Head Professional position. PGA membership or Associate status is preferred, but not required.The 1st Assistant will be deeply involved in member engagement, daily golf operations, staff training/scheduling, and merchandise management. The position also encourages frequent play with members as part of strengthening relationships and member satisfaction.Position DetailsType: Year-round, full-timeCompensation: $42,000 - $48,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)Additional Income:90% of lesson revenueTips permittedEstimated Total Compensation: ~$55,000+ annuallyReports To: Head Golf Professional / General ManagerResponsibilitiesDeliver outstanding customer service to members and guests, both in the shop and on the course.Oversee daily golf operations, including tee times, tournament administration, and member services.Manage the merchandising program, including buying, inventory control, display, and sales.Supervise and train golf shop and outside services staff; responsible for hiring, scheduling, and development.Support cart barn operations as needed (including covering shifts occasionally).Engage with members by playing golf regularly and promoting the club culture.Assist in the planning and execution of member events and tournaments.Serve as a role model and leader in both professionalism and service standards.QualificationsPGA Member or Associate preferred (but not required).Strong background in merchandising and retail operations.Previous golf shop operations and customer service experience required.Teaching experience with a desire to grow lesson clientele.Staff supervision experience (hiring, training, scheduling) strongly preferred.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Willingness to cover a variety of operational roles when needed.Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.BenefitsCompetitive salary and lesson income potential.Health and retirement benefit options (customized per candidate).Complimentary golf and access to club amenities.Staff merchandise and F&B discounts.Professional development and clear pathway toward a Head Professional position.Work with a highly engaged membership and supportive ownership team.ApplicationInterested candidates should submit a résumé and cover letter to:
