Assistant Superintendent - Commercial ConstructionOne of Southern Califorrnia's leading commercial general contractors is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join their team. They are known for their commitment to quality, safety, and schedule, and take pride in developing strong partnerships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.They are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to join the field operations team in the Los Angeles area.Position SummaryThe Assistant Superintendent supports the project superintendent in the daily coordination of construction activities on-site. This role is key to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards. You will work hands-on in the field to monitor progress, coordinate subcontractors, uphold safety protocols, and help resolve challenges proactively.Responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day on-site supervision of subcontractors and field crews
  • Enforce site safety plans and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Help manage daily schedules, look-ahead plans, and material deliveries
  • Conduct site walks to monitor quality and progress
  • Track and report project milestones and field conditions
  • Coordinate inspections with local officials and third-party agencies
  • Support Superintendent in maintaining project documentation, RFIs, and punch lists
  • Foster strong relationships with field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Familiarity with reading construction drawings and specifications
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software a plus
