We partner with a wide variety of clients to provide the groundwork and underground utilities (water, sanitary, and stormwater) for residential and industrial construction projects.Position Description:Our Estimator/Project Managers oversee aspects of overall planning and management for various types of construction projects with an emphasis on Site Civil in the areas of Heavy Highway (IDOT Projects), Commercial and Residential. Duties include estimating, oversight and accountability for project safety, pre-planning, procurement, scheduling, cost management, contract administration, quality control, customer service, and close out. Estimator/Project Managers must display effective communication with the entire project team and customers and ensure compliance with all policies and quality standards.This position does not have any direct reports.Job Requirements:
  • Prepares detailed budgets and estimates at all stages of design for negotiated and competitively bid projects.
  • Prepares bid packages, receives bids from subcontractors, and conducts cost analysis.
  • Communicate with peers, customers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Is present on active construction sites on a regular basis to troubleshoot issues, coordinate with production teams, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Approves subcontractor and materials invoices to ensure timely payment of all parties.
  • Implements project closeout checklist and orders final maintenance bonds if required.
Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years in construction estimating or project management required.
  • Associate's Degree in an Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with computer software including, but not limited to, Viewpoint Construction Software, MS Project, Agtek, AutoCAD, Bluebeam REVU, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via email.
  • Experience troubleshooting construction-related problems with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work outside, including in hot, cold and wet conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be available to travel overnight when necessary (less than 20%).
  • Must be available to work weekends and evenings as required to meet bid deadlines (less than 10%).
Compensation:McAninch Corporation offers a competitive salary (based on experience) and profit sharing.
