- Our orthopedic service is a busy service with complex surgical patients, including hip and knee arthroplasty, upper extremity, spine, and orthoplastics. You will be responsible for direct care management as well as collaboration with residents, surgeons, medical co-management, and consultants. You will serve as the in-house covering provider for the orthopedic surgery patients and respond to urgent medical/surgical concerns, as well as facilitate transfer to higher levels of care when needed. You are an integral member of the multidisciplinary clinical team on the surgical floor; will collaborate with physicians, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and case management, and will lead daily multidisciplinary rounds.
- You will be part of our unit based clinical leadership team, working on quality improvement and patient progression initiatives for the orthopedic service line. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with the outpatient orthopedic department to facilitate smooth/safe transitions through the entirety of a patient's surgical experience.
- As a provider, you will be committed to delivering high quality and safe patient care. You will have the ability to coordinate multiple aspects of the patient's care for a high volume acute surgical floor at a high level of independence.
- ACLS (For providers in the acute care setting) required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)S/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association required.
- Pennsylvania PA-C or CRNP licensure required
- PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.
- Master or Doctors of Nursing Practice required or Masters degree in Physcian Assistant studies required
- The identified Advanced Practice professional hire must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.
