
Learning Development Specialist

- Training Program Development: Design and deliver engaging WHS training programs tailored to various roles and critical areas within the organization. Ensure training content is up-to-date with current regulations and best practices.
- Learning Needs Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and gaps. Develop learning plans or training programs that support compliance, injury prevention, and employee wellbeing.
- Compliance and Certification Tracking: Maintain accurate records of training completion and certifications. Ensure all required training is completed on schedule and in accordance with legal and corporate standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of WHS training through feedback, performance metrics, and innovative learning methods (e.g., e-learning, simulations, hands-on workshops).
- Regulatory and Standards Alignment: Support the WHS organization’s implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (e.g., ISO 45001) and Client Production Way (SPW) safety practices as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with leadership, HR, and plant WHS teams to align training strategies with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Audit and Evaluation: Participate in WHS audits and inspections. Evaluate training outcomes and recommend improvements based on audit findings and employee feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in training management and data analysis within a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required to support business operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise risk management tools or platforms 7
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, Provincial, and Local health and safety regulations, including OSHA, WSIB, and other applicable standards
- Professional safety and risk certifications such a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
- Demonstrated experience in in a corporate health and safety, or industrial safety within a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Master’s Degree in Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- Familiarity with data analytics tools for risk trend analysis and reporting
