Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist(OT) to join our team and provide critical support to students in NYC Department ofEducation (DOE) schools. With a significant city-wide shortage of related serviceproviders, your expertise is urgently needed to help students develop crucial life skillsand achieve their full potential. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact onthe lives of children with diverse needs through evidence-based occupational therapyinterventions.As an OT with Knowledge Road, you will have the autonomy to deliver individualizedtherapy interventions, working collaboratively with school teams and families tosupport student development and independence.ResponsibilitiesAs an Occupational Therapist (OT) with Knowledge Road, you will:Provide direct, high-quality occupational therapy services to students in bothindividual and group settings, as mandated by their Individualized EducationService Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' fine motor, visual-motor,sensory processing, and activities of daily living skills.Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans utilizing sensoryintegration, motor learning principles, and adaptive strategies.Design and modify classroom environments, learning materials, and assistivetechnology to promote student participation and independence.Collaborate extensively with parents, teachers, related service providers, andschool administrators to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes.Provide consultation and training to educational staff on positioning, adaptiveequipment use, and sensory strategies.Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, andoutcomes in compliance with DOE regulations and Knowledge Road standards.Actively participate in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert occupational therapyinsights and evidence-based recommendations.QualificationsMust-Have:Current NYS license as an Occupational Therapist in good standing.National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) registration.Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based or pediatric setting.Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms.NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain priorto start.Schedule & LocationThis is a part-time, school-day or after-school position with a schedule that aligns with the NYC DOE calendar. You will be providing services on-site at one or more schools or at the child's home in Brooklyn, with specific assignments based on student needs. Hours/week are driven by IESP/IEP mandates; caseload may vary by assignment.
