Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pmDescription:Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, staff, and community members in person or virtuallyProvide scholarly research support to students, employees, and community membersContribute to the development of curriculum and teach information literacy instructionWork collaboratively with faculty and library team to recommend information literacy instruction that aligns with course and supports students research needsContribute to long-term planning, goal setting, and participates in assessment of library services and resourcesFacilitate training and development to the campus community in a variety of formats to include professional development days, virtual trainings, tutorials, seminars, and faculty and employee meetingsPartake in the creation and distribution of library promotional material and marketing effortsProvide input and collaborate in the selection and withdrawal of library resourcesCreate subject, course, and assignment-related research guides (LibGuides)Involvement in campus-wide enrollment and retention events and programsEnsure the delivery of programs and services to meet the scholarly research and library needs of students and community membersArrange the physical and digital library displays in partnership with the Library team, and the campus communityIdentify and organize innovative and creative projects that bring the community togetherManage the overall inventory and organization of all archives and special collectionsCollect and use reference-transaction data to inform changes to curriculum, instruction, and servicesContribute to the development and/or enhancement of workflows, policies, and tools to support information literacy, research, and instructionCommunicate with students, employees, and community members in a positive, welcoming, and inclusive way that ensures that users receive welcoming and efficient serviceProvide support and direction to student employeesDetermine appropriate resolutions and/or referral to respond to student circumstances and situations.Provide back-up coverage for circulation functionsWork collaboratively with others (e.g. supervisor, campus leadership, colleagues, stakeholders, student employees, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilitiesEngage in ongoing exploration in an equity minded delivery of library servicesParticipate in meetings and committees as assignedAssume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisorQualifications:Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution or a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with prior library instruction experienceMaster's degree from an American Library Association accredited school desiredPrior library instruction experienceCommunity college experienceBilingualStrong customer service orientation and interpersonal skillsEffective written and oral communications skillsMotivated to support others and work collaborativelyAble to understand and work with students and others from diverse backgrounds and having diverse skills and abilitiesBe flexible and willing to work in a dynamic environment focused on forward thinking and progressionProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, internet, computers, and modern technologyAbility and willingness to learn systems and applications that use advanced technologyProven problem-solving skills and solution-minded approachCapacity to work efficiently, effectively and accurately with a strong sense of timelinessAn engaging and persistent personality who is willing to help students succeed by building rapport and establishing professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty as a part of the plan to enhance learning and retention.Commitment and respect for diversity, equality, belonging, and inclusion
