We are growing! Virginia Linen Service a local family owned company for over 90 years is looking for a reliable and dedicated Dock Loader/Unloader to join our team at our Petersburg facility. This part-time position will work a Noon to 5:00 PM schedule. As a Dock Loader/Unloader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of goods for transportation to our valued customers, helping to maintain smooth operations within the facility.In this physically demanding role, you will be required to lift, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs at a time. Attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for success in this position.Key Responsibilities:1. Load and Unload Items into Company Vehicles:
  • Safely load and unload goods from delivery trucks, ensuring that items are securely placed and organized.
  • Maintain a consistent pace to meet deadlines, while adhering to safety standards.
  • Accurately scan or tag items as necessary to ensure proper inventory management.
  • Carefully handle goods to avoid damage and ensure all items are properly prepared for transport.
2. Contribute as a Productive Team Member:
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues regarding inventory or loading/unloading processes to the supervisor.
  • Support other team members during busy or peak times, ensuring the overall team meets daily operational goals.
3. Follow Guidelines to Ensure Quality for Our Customers:
  • Adhere to company guidelines and procedures to ensure goods are handled properly and safely.
  • Perform quality checks as items are loaded and unloaded, ensuring that all products are in the condition expected by customers.
  • Report any issues related to damaged goods or discrepancies in shipments to management immediately.
4. Maintain a Safe Work Environment:
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
  • Regularly inspect equipment and ensure it is in good working order
  • Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the supervisor promptly to ensure a quick response and resolution.
5. Additional Duties as Needed:
  • Assist with organizing the warehouse or dock area to ensure smooth operations.
  • Help with inventory counts or restocking when necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring flexibility in day-to-day duties.
