Position Summary...What you'll do... Position Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer on Walmart’s Omni Pricing Platform team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance solutions that power Walmart’s pricing capabilities across multiple channels. You will leverage your expertise in Java, React.js, event-driven architectures (Kafka), and NoSQL databases (Cosmos, Cassandra) to deliver robust, reliable, and innovative systems that directly impact millions of customers and associates.What You’ll Do:
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java (backend) and React.js (frontend).
  • Architect and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka to enable real-time data processing and integration.
  • Work with NoSQL database technologies such as Cosmos DB and Cassandra to build scalable, high-availability data solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features and enhancements for the Omni Pricing Platform.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following Walmart’s best practices and technical standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them as appropriate to improve our platform.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on full-stack development.
  • You are proficient in Java and React.js, with a proven track record of delivering production-quality applications.
  • You have hands-on experience designing and building event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • You are skilled in working with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and Cassandra, including data modeling and performance tuning.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, agile environment and enjoy solving complex problems at scale.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You are passionate about building high-impact solutions that drive business value and improve customer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
  • Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or pricing systems is a plus.
