- Execute complex civil and structural designs and equipment layouts in accordance with industry's best practices.
- Contribute to proposal development by reviewing RFQs and generating comprehensive work estimates and execution strategies.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of concrete and steel design and construction requirements.
- Serve as a qualified checker for complex jobs, leveraging extensive field constructability and fabrication knowledge.
- Audit and validate the quality and workflow of other design team members.
- Establish initial physical design requirements in collaboration with supervisors and engineers.
- Check and verify discipline designs, functioning as a certified checker for medium to high complexity projects.
- Develop comprehensive execution plans for projects.
- Coordinate and manage projects involving workshare arrangements.
- Apply advanced understanding of civil/structural design and its impact on layouts and pipe support loads.
- Mentor junior designers and drafters, fostering their professional growth.
- Serve as a technical expert for team and design reviews.
- Perform field activities as required.
- High school diploma or associate's degree with drafting coursework; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of in-depth design experience within petrochemical, refining, pharmaceutical, or power plant construction projects.
- Advance proficiency working with Cad Worx, Navisworks, E3D, Bluebeam, Laser Scans (Aveva Point Cloud Manager and Recap).
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Front-End Loading (FEL) / Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project execution, including stage-gate processes and the evolving deliverables and milestones from early FEL/FEED through detailed design.
- Proficient in developing Material Take Off within the FEL/FEED framework.
- Advanced understanding of project planning and forecasting, with some exposure to earned value management.
- Advanced proficiency in identifying project changes and a foundational understanding of change management processes, with the ability to communicate these to project leads.
- Comprehensive knowledge of schedule development, including predecessor/successor relationships and supporting resource loading.
- Significant experience providing on-site project support.
- Proven track record of supporting large greenfield and brownfield project execution.
