
Manufacturing Engineering Technician

- Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as electrical schematics, machine BOMs, spare parts lists, process instructions, standard operating procedures, and maintenance procedures
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for production issues
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues
- Actively engage in collaborative discussions for solving problems for plant tactical and strategic needs
- Creating new drawing/models, or modifying existing drawings/models in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Making basic modifications to PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, and mechanical systems
- Assisting in developing scope of projects, conceptualizing solutions, and procure budgetary quotes
- Working in the machine shop using shop tools such as mills, lathes, and welding equipment
- Associate degree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; or two to four years related work experience.
- A strong technical understanding of automated equipment engineering with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience designing and maintaining custom automation equipment
- Basic knowledge and application of machining practices and how part tolerances affect machining requirements and cost
- Knowledge of material properties (machinability, heat treatment, corrosion resistance, etc.)
- Ability to develop design concepts into functional engineering models and drawings
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical/electronic control devices/sensors (relays, transformers, PLCs, circuits, etc.)
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot industrial mechanical devices (pneumatics, hydraulics, gear boxes, conveyors, belt drives, chain-drives, and presses)
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills
- Understanding of Lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and electrical codes
- Understanding of drafting standards
- Allen-Bradley and/or Mitsubishi PLC / HMI experience a plus
