- Design, configure, and tune on-prem connected and standalone, high and low, information systems and network connections (LAN and WAN) to ensure high levels of availability and security
- Administer and troubleshoot network components to include encryption devices, firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure high network availability and confidentiality. Monitor and test network performance, apply security controls, and provide statistics and reports on network performance and vulnerability management
- Install, configure, monitor, administer and maintain physical (ESXi) and virtual servers (Windows and RHEL), printers, scanners and custom developed applications. Install patches and upgrades to server hardware, firmware, and/or software.
- Schedule and monitor data backup jobs, analyzing and correcting issues as identified, regularly reporting critical data metrics and issues to management, and proactively maintaining the health and availability of storage solutions (virtual and physical)
- Provide face-to-face customer support across various cross-functional teams using multi-tiered troubleshooting techniques to address moderately complex problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications
- Administer and maintain end user accounts throughout the lifecycle to include onboarding (account creation and initial access), maintenance (ongoing access and role changes), and offboarding (account deactivation and permission revocation) in accordance with valid business justification principles of least privilege
- Perform/support internal external audit functions in accordance with company and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) standards for all information systems and components (servers, databases, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.)
- Regularly analyze the performance of networks and associated components, servers, databases, applications, and various information systems and components. Uses critical analysis to develop solutions to optimize system/component performance while ensuring compliance to company, security, and audit standards
- Conduct research to evaluate new vendors/products in support of acquisition for system components to meet company and external regulatory compliance and provide recommendations based on business needs and compliance requirements
- Perform support tasks as needed requested by the Senior System Administrator, Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and the Facility Security Officer (FSO)
- Proven Network Expertise
- Extensive experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with routers, switches, and firewalls. (Experience working in segmented or isolated network environments without traditional internet access)
- Security Focus
- Strong understanding of network and server security principles, including firewalls, 802.1x, RADIUS, IDS/IPS, Encryption devices, and security best practices to ensure robust network defenses.
- Server Administration
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining servers (Windows primarily), including performing regular updates, patches, hardening (STIG). Experience in virtualized environments preferred.

- Strong troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to take initiative to identify, research, and resolve complex issues independently. Ability to prioritize various tasks in alignment to mission needs and is self-directed in task execution.

- Ability to provide exceptional customer service with the ability to professionally communicate verbally and in person with colleagues from various teams and organization levels
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, mathematics, information technology, computer sciences, a related field, or 5+ years equivalent experience
- At least one (1) year of directly related experience in systems administration
- Experience with one of the principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of IT and business systems
- Experience in current principles and practices of system administration

- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
