- Able to drive all vehicles assigned to them.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Load cargo in a safe manner as trained.
- Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
- Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirement at the end of each shift.
- Able to push 96 pounds and pull 130 pounds and lift 63 pounds.
- Able to climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.
- Able to read and navigate road maps and GPS systems.
- Confirm that all necessary permits are obtained before delivering load.
- May drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
- Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels.
- Able to communicate via written orders and instructions.
- Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.
- Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
- Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
- Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform duties as assigned by management.
- 3+ years truck driving experience.
- 1+ year experience operating equipment preferred.
- Valid CDL class A license required with hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Able to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, Clearinghouse verification and 7-year criminal background check.
