
Automation Technician - 1st/2nd Rotating Shift

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with production, facility, and utility automation/control systems, including instrumentation and devices.
- Execute minor changes to controls, configurations, and hardware, following test plans and documenting work per site standards.
- Support maintenance and operations teams by training personnel on the operation, fault diagnostics, and maintenance of electronic controls and instrumentation.
- Identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities related to automation systems.
- Perform installation, replacement, and repair of electronics equipment listed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Author and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Reliability Centered Maintenance job plans for electronic components.
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying and addressing inefficiencies to improve asset availability.
- Use computer systems (e.g., CMMS, email, SOP Database) for documentation and communication.
- Communicate issues effectively to peers and management through verbal and written reports.
- Execute work in compliance with GMPs, site policies, work instructions, and SOPs, reporting deviations that could impact product quality or safety.
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to Health & Safety policies and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Work flexible hours, including other shifts or weekends, as needed for production or maintenance coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.Essential Skills/Experience:
▪ High school diploma or equivalent.
▪ 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
▪ Demonstrated ability to read electrical diagrams and electronic schematics and use them to troubleshoot industrial control system and machine issues.
▪ Demonstrated ability to program, troubleshoot, and decipher automation control devices, including but not limited to PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
▪ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
▪ Strong computer skills.
▪ Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
▪ Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment and adapt to changing business needs.Desirable Skills/Experience:
▪ An Associate’s Degree in a technical field or completion of an Apprenticeship Program is strongly preferred.
▪ Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley is strongly preferred.
▪ Experience providing client support or customer service is preferred.
