- Process payroll miscellaneous payments and deductions, including W-4s and Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs) Union Dues, Credit Union Deductions, Phone Stipend Allowance, Commute Trip Mileage, and taxable fringe benefits.
- Analyze and verify addresses and signatures of W-4 and EFTs (Direct Deposits) to comply with WSDOT policies
- Validate and process Multiple Dedication Remittances (MDRs) for third party vendor employee deductions.
- Analyze and verify Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) report.
- Execute remittance reports out of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) to insert with physical checks and mail to vendors.
- Verify petty cash checks for deductions on current payroll.
- Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), state and federal regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Financial Analysis & Accuracy: Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain integrity in payroll and fiscal records.
- Research & Problem-Solving: Ability to gather and interpret information from diverse sources, identify issues, and recommend or implement effective solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to provide clear financial guidance, work effectively with internal and external partners, and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications, payroll systems, and other tools required for accurate payroll processing.
- Extensive Accounting Knowledge: Has completed 18-quarter credits or 12-semester hours in Accounting, Audit, or Budget, or has additional demonstrated professional financial experience payroll or human resources.
