Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Promotion: Hazardous Materials Specialists I are eligible for promotion to upon meeting the minimum requirements for the Hazardous Materials Specialist II and receiving a recent satisfactory work progress report. Hazardous Materials Specialists I must qualify for promotion within 12 months or employment will be terminated. Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.Minimum RequirementsRegistration: Must possess and maintain registration as an Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) with the State of California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Proof of REHS possession MUST be submitted with the application.Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have experience in a Hazardous Materials environment, along with proficient use of Microsoft Office computer programs. Knowledge of the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) and EnvisionConnect software is highly desirable.Selection ProcessExamination: There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in the Application and the Supplemental Questionnaire.
