- Evaluation and implementation of therapeutic recreation programs designed to increase, maintain or restore physical and mental health function as directed by the physician.
- Responsible for assisting patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure, adaptive and recreational activities.
- Develop treatment plan based on evaluation findings and other relevant data gathered through treatment team that includes appropriate short and long term goals.
- Provides orientation to recreation therapy for patients by conducting groups in recreation therapy and based on the population of the group.
- Takes the time to plan the activities in advance in order to allow for effective introduction, the activity and closure.
- Assures the scheduling is done effectively on the weekends, in the evenings and in conjunction with approved off-campus activities.
- Responsible for working with a team in the delivery of care and participates in educational experiences for interns.
