Our live services are used today by Windows, Office, Exchange, Sharepoint, Bing, Xbox etc to localize client and web application strings as well as online content. Our localization platforms are depended on for over 90% of Microsoft's localization needs, used by billions of people around the world.As a result,we need a Software Engineer II to expand, improve, and modernize our platform of services and tools is bigger than ever. Our services will have to scale to support the entire company and provide visibility and deep insights into system availability, including performance, health, and throughput. Additionally, these services will need to be architected in a way that can expand to the growing needs of the localization ecosystem both inside and eventually outside the company.Your opportunity to impact the company's ability to ship our various platforms, applications and content worldwide is enormous on this team.   • Use cloud design patterns to deliver secure, highly available, resilient, performant, scalable, and easily maintainable services. Drive coherent architecture across subsystems, often working cross-team with multiple developers.
  • Develop complete design that satisfy customer, engineering, and operational requirements, including producing development specifications and driving specifications reviews.
  • Deliver high quality code, testing and deployment to production.
  • Help evolve development guidelines, practices and principles for a world where services development and delivery is moving faster than ever.
  • Contribute to an inclusive culture of growth mindset, iterate fast and learn from feedback, mutual respect, trust and appreciation; deliver results thru teamwork and collaboration.
Embody our andQualifications:Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience creating and implementing code for a product, service, or feature.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with cloud tech (IaaS, PaaS or SaaS), including data technologies.
  • An ability to perform at a high level, in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Independent, capable of creating clarity and making sound, data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, drive positive change, and be open to change
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
