The Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure the company's products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying shortfalls, developing corrective measures, and implementing quality control systems. The successful Quality Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills to ensure that processes and products consistently meet or exceed established quality standards. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Perform root cause analysis of quality issues to analyze quality performance utilizing statistical, analytical and advance problem solving toolsRecommend and implement cost-effective permanent corrective actionsAnalyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlationCoordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllableManage engineering changes, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely executionConduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process changes before full implementationRecommend and validate rework proceduresDevelop inspection procedures and best practices * Requirements:MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFTBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or applicable Technical Engineering Degree from an accredited university2+ years practical experience in Automotive Engineering, Engineering Quality or Manufacturing QualityPrior application and use of problem-solving tools and statisticsStrong proficiency in MS Office applications & G-Suite toolsEffective presentation/public speaking skills
  • Experienced with problem solving tools
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and teach others
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate details from executive level to plant staff level
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work off shift hours as necessary
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Driving required: must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with BIW commodity
  • Experience in the design, testing and assembly of assembly lines.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Background in LEAN manufacturing principles or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and problem-solving techniques
  • Applicable work experience
