Job Description:Job SummarySterile Processing TechnicianLocation: Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville, NCDepartment: Sterile ProcessingSchedule: Full-Time, Day shift (9:30am - 6:00pm) - 40 hours per week - Monday through Friday.On-Call: Every 3rd weekendOur Sterile Processing Department is a critical unit responsible for the lifecycle management of medical instruments and equipment for 5 operating rooms at Thomasville Medical Center. This will include cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing these items. The Sterile Processing Department ensures that instruments and equipment are available, properly maintained, and ready for immediate use, ultimately supporting patient care. ResponsibilitiesThe Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing clean, properly packaged, sterile instruments and supplies to meet individual customer needs.It is the responsibility of every Novant Health team member to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required.
  • CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT; required.
  • Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
