
School Age Program Leader - Lafayette

- Program Leaders independently lead and supervise children in small and large group activities
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants and community members.
- Maintains confidentiality of YMCA issues, incidents and records
- Is on time for all shifts; and is flexible to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days.
- Provides leadership and support to Program Aides and Volunteers
- Practices positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques to participants with natural consequences in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures and expectations.
- Other duties as assigned
- Age 18 years or older.
- Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting.
- Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (can be complete through the YMCA).
- Work well on a team, communicate well with youth, parents and colleagues, and be committed to high quality programming.
