Job DescriptionWork ArrangementThis role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.The Role:The Ultifi Platform supports the definition, design, and development of continuously improving mobility services. Ultifi / SDV (Software Define Vehicle) is a new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! This space is ripe with technical leadership opportunities for advanced technology development, as well as the ability to provide mentorship for new employees. You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business.What you'll do:
We are looking for experienced embedded Linux/C/C++/Rust Developer to join our engineering team and help us develop and maintain software tools. As a embedded Linux Developer, you would be responsible for writing and testing code, debugging programs, and integrating applications with other tools. To be successful in this role, you should have experience using client/server-programing and work well in a team.
Ultimately, you will build highly interactive tools that align with our business needs.
As a key member of the team, you will conceive, propose, design and architect during the initial product design phase, and then work within the development scrum teams to coordinate the development as well as perform code reviews throughout the rest of the stages of product lifecycle. We want your voice as well as design thinking, as we research and develop products that will redefine the virtualization concept for Android.
  • Lead development of software system team design content and software anomaly corrections
  • Performs complex design analysis
  • Specifies and balances system requirements
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among software community
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform or application component
  • Participates in interviews
  • Visibility: at the site/team level
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • BS/MS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.).
  • 7 years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience, especially in automotive related applications
  • Experience of working on Google Protocol Buffers and gRPC.
  • In advanced level programming in C/C++/Rust including thread synchronization multithreading, multi-processing, concurrency, and TCP/IP Socket Programming.
  • Strong experience in the standard libraries, STL containers, and algorithms.
  • Adept in building applications for Windows platforms
  • High proficiency with programming tools.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in Rust, C++ programing
  • Experience setting up QEMU processors in non-uniform memory architecture.
  • Experience with QEMU instruction-set customization and extension. In particular for ARM64.
  • Experience producing memory and instruction traces from QEMU in different formats.
  • Processing thread synchronization & Interrupt forwarding
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux filesystem.
  • Experience in configure QEMU to support boards under the arm architecture and build the QEMU image and making root filesystem.
  • Experience integrating QEMU in CD/CI environment.
