- Organizing and analyzing clients’ financial information
- Establishing and updating client records
- Preparing necessary forms for filing taxes
- Advising clients about tax liabilities and other tax-related matters
- Filing tax returns on paper or electronically on behalf of clients
- Staying current on IRS and state and local tax rules and regulations and ensuring full compliance
- Assisting with audits by gathering and preparing financial information
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred or eligible
- 2+ years of proven experience in public accounting preferred
- Analytical skills to review financial information
- Strong written and oral communication skills to explain information to clients
- Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations as well as state and local tax laws
- Familiarity with tax preparation and accounting software and electronic tax filing systems
- Multitasking skills to handle multiple clients’ tax preparations at the same time
- Organizational skills to maintain clean records
- Strong time management skills to complete work within strict deadlines
