This role reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with operations, manufacturing engineering, and facilities to achieve the plant’s overall safety goals.Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Treats minor illnesses or injuries and provides immediate emergency care as necessary. Coordinates Supervisors and/or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary.
- Executes emergency medical response when need arises.
- Co-Administers worker’s compensation program with Safety Manager
- Prepares and maintains clinical or case histories, treatment records and other confidential patient data.
- Conducts health evaluations of applicants and employees, including but not limited to pulmonary function testing, audiometric testing and substance abuse screening.
- Collaborate with Human Resources Department on issues of employee health, safety, disability/fit-for-duty, and other pertinent personnel issues.
- Maintains drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment and maintains related medical records.
- Administers health and wellness programs as needed. Provides counsel to employees as necessary.
- Assists in administering the plant’s safety goals by providing input on work related injuries/illness trends coming into the Safety & Health department while working closely with physicians regarding work restriction forms.
- Support overall department objectives, duties, events and other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Registered Nurse or LPN and/or Equivalent certificate with emergency room or industrial experience required
- 3-5 years of related experience required
- Supervisor experience preferred
- Certified in pulmonary function and audiometric testing desired. Ability to obtain these certifications after being hired is required if not already held.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within all levels of a diverse workforce
- Experience in disability and/or worker’s compensation strongly desired
- General understanding of FMLA and other leave components strongly desired
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite required
- Ability to type 40+ wpm required
- Must be able to work first shift hours of 6:30AM – 3:00PM. Occasional weekend, evening, or early morning overtime hours may be required with sufficient notice.
