Join us as a full time Sonographer with the Ultrasound Team and enjoy the benefits and career growth that this world-class academic medical center has to offer – right in the heart of gorgeous Burlington, VT.JOB DESCRIPTION:The Staff Sonographer performs a variety of routine and complex imaging procedures using high frequency sound waves.Since ultrasound can be degraded or blocked by various tissues and materials including lung, bowel gas and bone, obtaining a sonogram is a tailored examination requiring technical skill to adjust the machine, experience to find appropriate "windows" that can transmit an undistorted ultrasound beam, and diagnostic knowledge to obtain extra images customized to the diagnosis of concern and to abnormalities seen while obtaining the basic image set.This need to heavily customize the examination to each patient and to recognize and diagnose pathology separates the sonographer from other imaging technologists in radiology.The Staff Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasounds and other required modalities within individual department(s). Examinations are performed independently, under physician supervision, and with peer collaboration as is appropriate.EDUCATION:High school graduate or equivalent.Graduate of a certified CAAHEP school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology or a two year allied health equivalent.Must be ARDMS registered in Breast or working towards certification within 1 year of hire.EXPERIENCE:One - five years paid scanning experience.We are also open to new grads and Sonographers who have additional experience and training. Please apply today and we can discuss these exciting opportunities!LOCATION:This position will rotate between diagnostic and breast imaging (all sites) on a regular basis.HOURS:7:30-4p is primary shift with no weekend requirements at this time, with holiday rotation requirements per contract.No weekend requirements at this time, subject to change if future business needs change. Will be on holiday rotation for diagnostic ultrasound.
