Eckerd College is currently seeking candidates for the position of Boat Driver to join our academics team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community.As Boat Driver, you will safely drive NAS vessels for the purpose of teaching students the methods and modes of different types of marine research and specimen collection on the waters of Tampa Bay. The position requires knowledge of skill in the operation of a large catamaran-type boat and to operate vessels in a safe manner. The position must also possess extensive knowledge of boating and safety regulations.Benefits OverviewEckerd College offers a competitive benefits package, including the following:

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive assigned vessels to locations specified by course instructors.
  • Perform routine cleaning and washing of vessels.
  • Ensure boats are properly fueled before and after sessions.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and de-boarding vessels.
  • Ensure required safety equipment is on the vessels before sessions.
  • Oversee passenger activity and ensure passenger safety.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency; two years of experience operating a 32’ Beachcat catamaran.
  • Eckerd College Beachcat Rating Certification required
