The Field Technician will collect field measurements and data and provide stake-out at the direction of the Survey Project Manager or office technician. The technician must be willing to work outside year-round and must be capable of moderate to full physical activity. Also responsible for collecting all required field data for the preparation of a variety of surveying projects for both public and private clients and utilizing state-of-the-art instrumentation, which includes robotic total stations, and GNSS/GPS. On larger projects, the position may also include some supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare field notes, photographs and sketches
  • Collect boundary and topographic field measurements
  • Responsible downloading conventional and GPS field data
  • Recover and measure real property evidence
  • Perform construction layout
  • Ability to rotate, translate and calculate survey points in the field
  • Equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Oversees the training & development of the Assistant Field Technician
  • On site client communication
  • Participate in Health and Safety Program
Job Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as a survey field technician
Associates Degree in land surveying or equivalent
Experience running robotic total stations and GNSS/GPS required
Project experience with public utilities, energy services, and transportation
Must possess a valid driver"s license with a clean driving record
Certification as an LSIT is a plus
