While XSquared Media supports a range of clients, it specializes in support for non-profit and mission-driven for-profit entities.ABOUT THE INTERNSHIPThe internship is designed to give junior and senior-level students hands-on experience working on client-related projects to sharpen their skills and to bolster their resume/professional portfolio. Responsibilities may include:
● Media Relations Support & PR: Assist in drafting press releases, media kits and/or media pitch lists; support outreach to media outlets to secure earned media placements.
● Digital Content Creation & Social Media Management: Help develop content for social media, email newsletters, blogs/websites and other digital platforms.
● Analytics & Metrics Reporting: Aid in compiling monthly analytics reports on engagement, impressions and earned media outreach results by utilizing tools for tracking coverage, measuring campaign performance and summarizing findings.
● Graphic Design Support: Create promotional materials for clients (e.g., flyers, postcards, etc.) using Canva.
●Research Support: Conduct internet research and digital audits to help inform client communication strategies.WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR● Academic level: College juniors or seniors, though sophomores with relevant coursework or prior internship experience also will be considered. Recent college graduates (i.e., those who've graduated within the last six months) also will be considered. Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism and English majors are preferred.
● Skills & interests: Strong writing and communication skills, familiarity with social media content planning, enthusiasm for meaningful/authentic storytelling, experience with email marketing tools like Mailchimp, knowledge of Associated Press writing/editing style and knowledge of Canva editing tools.
● Qualities: Reliable, organized, able to manage time and tasks independently, strong attention to detail, ability to adapt communication style for different audiences/clients, able to work collaboratively on group projects, comfortable communicating with and/or behalf of a client, enthusiastic about learning and trying new things, open to receiving/applying constructive feedback and high regard for media ethics.
