We are looking for an Assistant Controller - Americas to lead our Americas Accounting Team. We are looking for a motivated individual who will be able to lead a team in the execution of the team’s overall mission of providing reliable financial information and exceptional operations support in alignment with Calabrio's strategic goals while fostering a culture of inclusion. By providing timely and accurate financial reporting, business guidance, and streamlined processes, this individual will help support the Company's ability to sustainably increase growth and profitability. In addition, the Assistant Controller – Americas will leverage their financial and process acumen to support certain business functions with project coordination, process documentation, financial analysis and accommodating ad-hoc user requests.About The Team
Our Americas Accounting Team manages the accounting for the Company’s operations currently based in the United States and Canada, as well as oversees the Company’s global consolidation. From executing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the generation of maintenance of accurate financial reporting in compliance with applicable regulations, the Americas Accounting Team is responsible for several key areas that are critical to the organization’s success including driving an efficient and accurate month-end close process, providing oversight to components of compensation-related accounting, leading adoption and education of the impact of new and existing accounting guidance and leading an environment of continuous improvement. This dynamic and fast-paced environment is fueled by a remarkable team of motivated individuals who share a passion for financial accuracy and excellence. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team. The successful candidate must have a strong business and financial background and understanding of monthly and annual general ledger closings, financial statement preparation and analysis, and collaborating with external auditors, along with a passion to mentor and train team members.Functional Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day performance of the Americas Accounting Team, including the monthly financial statement close, balance sheet reconciliation preparation and approvals and variance analysis on results.
  • Lead the global accounts payable functions, including Concur expense reimbursement and credit card programs
  • Provide oversight of the Company’s treasury functions, including the review and delivery of all debt compliance reporting requirements
Compliance & Reporting Responsibilities
  • Lead decision making and resolution of complex US GAAP accounting issues, including providing company-wide leadership in the areas of accounting and account analysis
  • Oversee accounting and reporting for equity compensation and commissions
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end Board financial packages
  • Lead the annual preparation of audited consolidated financial statements
  • Monitor the consistency and accuracy of accounting reports and ledgers, and financial data provided by other teams
  • Develop and maintain an environment of continuous process improvement, enhance, and streamline accounting and financial reporting processes as appropriate
Management Responsibilities
  • Coach, motivate, and develop direct reports
  • Empower others to discover, connect, and grow by having healthy, candid conversations (Goals Setting, Performance Reviews,1:1s)
  • Serve as mentor and peer coach to teammates
Other Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key cross-functional stakeholders to support business analyses and decision making
  • Serve as primary point of contact for annual consolidated audit
  • Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
  • Provide support for system upgrades and implementations
  • Lead and/or assist on cross functional projects as needed
  • Monitor team accountability for KPIs
  • Assisting on acquisitions from performing pre-acquisition due diligence through post-acquisition integration activities
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA license, in active or active, or equivalent preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in corporate accounting and month-end close functions, including a minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team to success
  • 4+ years’ experience with equity plan administration
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to quickly grasp company operations and business drivers and communicate effectively across the organization and to upper management
  • Eager to take on new tasks and projects
  • Ability to thrive in change and ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to articulate verbally and written, debate, evaluate and document complex process issues, ability to think quickly and present to an audience
  • High professional standards and personal and professional integrity
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems and multi-task effectively
  • Strong attention to detail along with the ability to see the big picture
  • Excellent judgement and planning skills
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
  • Big 4 audit experience
  • SaaS / software / technology experience
  • History working with global organizations and exposure to statutory requirements, as well as intercompany transactions
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Experience with BI tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and Mode
