- Transports patients to rooms/ treatment rooms, using wheelchair or stretcher, or assists them to walk.
- Obtains and documents vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, temperature and pain level and places appropriate patients on the cardiac monitor.
- Answers call lights and determines patients' needs. Assists patients as needed (dress and undress patients, assist with toileting etc.).
- Assists with various examinations and treatments including but not limited to: pelvic exams, chest tube placements, wound care, laceration repair, and closed reduction of limbs.
- Verifies discharge sheet against admission sheet for accuracy and return of valuables such as glasses, hearing aids and items stored in safe.
- Distributes charts of discharged patients and distributes appropriately.
- Places surgery pack and consent on chart when ordered.
- Takes specimens to lab; directs patients/visitors.
- Retrieves medical records on admits after hours.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course of study.
- Current Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant registration.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification.
- Experience working in a busy clinical setting with changing priorities preferred.
