Job Title: Automation Technician
Job DescriptionJoin a leading company in manufacturing innovative instrumentation solutions for the HVAC and Process Automation markets. With over 650 technical patents, this company is headquartered in Michigan City, Indiana, and has satellite locations globally. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for managing automated equipment within the manufacturing lines, working with technologies such as Epson Robots, Automation Direct, Rockwell PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Responsibilities
  • Assist with line implementation efforts.
  • Own the troubleshooting of automated issues occurring within manufacturing.
  • Have a foundational understanding of the manufacturing process and the automation involved.
  • Perform troubleshooting on Bar Code vision systems.
  • Ensure operators understand how the automated equipment works prior to use.
  • Work cross-functionally with maintenance, operators, and Automation Engineers.
  • Ability to perfect the manufacturing/product process.
Essential Skills
  • Technical associate's degree related to engineering (EET, MET, Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Skills in automation, troubleshooting, electrical systems, HMI, robotics, controls engineering, PLC troubleshooting, and factory support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with Automation Direct PLCs.
  • Direct experience with Epson Robots.
Work EnvironmentLocated in Michigan City, IN, this role involves assisting in line implementation. The position is on a 2nd shift (7pm-7am) working on a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts. Some weekends will be required, with a rotation of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Overtime is available. The opportunity includes a 12-month contract with potential for permanent placement based on performance, offering 80 hours of PTO and 6 paid holidays.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
