- Lead and Support: Lead, support, and reinforce company culture, guest service, and performance expectations across the deli team.
- Staff Management: Partner with the Human Resources Manager to maintain appropriate staff levels by interviewing and extending job offers to qualified candidates.
- Training and Leadership: Provide thorough and consistent training for new Deli associates and offer ongoing support to enhance retention.
- Ensure a Positive Experience: Set a strong example for the team and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Offer Assistance: Assist guests with locating items both on and off the sales floor, and address guest concerns with service or product-related issues.
- Inventory and Presentation: Manage the presentation of the service case, ensuring products are visually appealing and rotated to meet quality standards. Maintain accurate inventory and temperature logs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 AM and 5 PM.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment, including shelving, sales floors, and other necessary areas.
- Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
- Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
- Experience: High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 3+ years of leadership experience (preferably in retail or restaurant settings).
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety Knowledge: A complete understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, along with knowledge of proper procedures for equipment and safety hazards.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising, as well as the ability to make effective and timely decisions.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Full range of upper body motion.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures such as kitchens, coolers, freezers, and sales floors.
- Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly, providing more frequent access to their funds. Part-time store associates are paid a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Hourly full-time store associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
