About the CompanyOur client is a dynamic and growing restaurant group based in Phoenix, operating three unique concepts across six locations. Known for exceptional food, hospitality, and operational excellence, the group is expanding its leadership team to support continued growth. They're now hiring a seasoned Controller to take ownership of all financial operations and provide strategic guidance to the executive team.This is not a typical Controller role. This is a role for someone who can be incredibly involved in the day to day life of the restaurants, even willing to jump in hands-on when there are large events. Experience in and a love for restaurants would be fantastic for this role!Position SummaryThe Controller will serve as the financial leader across all six restaurant locations, overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will collaborate closely with ownership and operations leadership to ensure accurate financials, optimized costs, and scalable systems as the group grows.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payrollPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsOversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementImplement and maintain internal controls and accounting policiesMonitor cost of goods sold (COGS), labor costs, and prime cost targetsAnalyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to leadershipManage relationships with CPAs, banks, and external vendorsOversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirementsSupport new location openings and capital planningCoordinate financial systems integration with POS and payroll systemsQualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industryExperience managing multi-unit operations is strongly preferredDeep understanding of restaurant financial metrics (COGS, labor %, prime cost)Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with restaurant POS and payroll systemsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage competing deadlinesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience)Health, dental, and vision benefitsPTO and paid holidaysOpportunities for growth with an expanding hospitality group
