- Assists in the provision of high-quality care within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care for dental assistants.
- Prepares each operatory and patient for treatment.
- Review the provider’s schedule for appropriate appointments.
- Takes and prepares radiographs using conventional or digital technology.
- Provides active chairside assistance to the Dentist and anticipates their needs.
- At the conclusion of patient care, assist the patient, clear the work site, and prepare for the next patient.
- Monitors the flow of laboratory cases.
- Monitors and records sterilization cycles.
- Maintains and inventory supplies.
- Helps to manage patient flow in the clinic.
- Follow proper infection control protocols for the practice.
- Participates in the ongoing evaluation of Dental Program operations to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services that support the financial sustainability of the department.
- Ability to set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to manage the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC, and ADA standards.
- Maintains and expands the current level of dental assistant skills and knowledge by periodically attending continuing education programs.
- Will have two years of experience.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively and have a collaborative, patient-focused attitude.
- Greet all patients, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Take initiative and ensure all daily tasks are completed.
- Order, track, and receive all back-office supplies.
- Discuss provider-recommended treatment and create value.
- Sterilize instruments, restock operatories, and thoroughly clean equipment.
- Certification: Current RDA License. Radiation Safety Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Coronal Polish Certificate.
- High School Diploma or GED
