This role will be responsible for establishing and enforcing language standards, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our localization processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of localization strategies and governance, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.ResponsibilitiesStrategy and GovernanceOwn and manage the language tiering model and scorecardPeriodically evaluate and update the language tiering as Equinix expands into new marketsEnforce enterprise-wide strategies, standards, and processes related to translation and localizationServe as an escalation point for functional and regional teams to resolve translation-related issuesStandardsEstablish and disseminate guidelines for translation tone and formality to vendors and internal reviewersTrain and support internal translation reviewers to ensure quality and consistencyAddress concerns raised by customers, regional teams, or translation reviewers regarding translation qualityOwn and distribute the decision framework to determine mandatory translations for assets and activities and the associated quality levelCollaborate with the business to identify content that must be translated across the end-to-end customer and employee experience by language tierVendor Relationships and ToolingDetermine approved translation and localization vendors and tools for enterprise-wide useDrive implementation and ongoing support with vendors, setup, enhancements to self-service capabilities, and integration pointsAct as the business owner for translation systems, functionality, and interfacesTrack enterprise-wide spending and seek cost efficiencies through vendor and process strategiesProcessesCollaborate with vendors and key stakeholders to establish a self-service translation capabilityCreate and deliver training for cross-functional stakeholders on the translation strategy, standards, vendors, tooling, and processesUnderstand cross-functional and regional needs, driving continuous improvement in localization and translation approachesQualifications10+ years of relevant experienceProven experience in localization, translation management, or a related fieldStrong understanding of language tiering models and translation quality standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teamsHigh emotional intelligence and ability to influenceExperience managing vendor relationships and driving process improvementsFamiliarity with translation tools and technologiesThe United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $198,000 to $298,000 per year • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $191,000 to $287,000 per year • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $177,000 to $265,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations.
