ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS JOB?The work schedule for this position is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call duties and the potential for weekend shifts as required. In the capacity of Equipment Maintenance Assistant - Operator at Daggett County, your day will begin at a central location before departing to various job sites. You will assist in the maintenance of water treatment and processing facilities, which includes changing and replacing chemicals, conducting routine water sampling and monitoring, and ensuring optimal operation of booster and pump stations for peak flow and fire protection. You will engage in daily maintenance tasks associated with the Dutch John Water and Sewer systems, which involve plumbing, heating repairs, and various seasonal operations. Additionally, you will perform ongoing road maintenance, operating heavy equipment such as graders, dozers, and backhoes to maintain roads and road right-of-ways, and executing drainage maintenance. Your efforts will significantly enhance the safety and functionality of community infrastructure.If you can do this and meet the following requirements, you might be a perfect fit!
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in operating and maintaining medium to heavy-sized equipment
  • Pesticide applications license
  • Valid Utah driver's license
  • Valid Utah Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to earn one
  • Flagger certification or the ability to obtain one
  • Strong knowledge of safety precautions related to construction and equipment operation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
